You can play the game from Windows XP Operating Systems to Windows 11 or all newer versions. The game setup size is 41 MB and needs 270 MB of hard drive disk space.

The only downside is that Metal Slug 7 does not introduce any new characters. The same team from Metal Slug 6 makes a reappearance in this game, each retaining their unique abilities from the previous game. This is something I appreciate, and it made me want to play the game multiple times, using all six characters.
In addition to bringing back the same cast, Metal Slug 7 also revives some of the gameplay mechanics introduced in Metal Slug 6, including the weapon stock system that enables players to carry numerous upgrades.
The rush blaster high score combo system is also retained, adding to the fun factor. The game has three modes of play: beginner, normal, and hard. You can now play the entire game, irrespective of the difficulty level you choose. Unfortunately, the option to play the game in co-op mode is no longer available, which is a significant drawback.
